Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmygal has been summoned to the Verkhovna Rada because of the law on demobilization. This was reported on January 8 by MP Yaroslav Zheleznyak.

"In the rainbow summoned Shmygal. The reason - the law on demobilization, which should have been initiated by the government under the law on mobilization", - he wrote in his Telegram-channel.

According to the MP, for the summons Shmygal in the Verkhovna Rada voted 158 deputies with 150 necessary.

Earlier, December 26, 2024, Verkhovna Rada deputy Anna Skorokhod said that today it is impossible to carry out demobilization in the Armed forces of Ukraine due to the disruption of mobilization plans, which are not implemented. She also noted that most of the mobilized men are fighting on the battle line, as the officers "almost do not fight".

In addition, on 24 December, political analyst Ruslan Kalinchuk told Izvestiya that if the Ukrainian conflict continues, Kiev might facilitate the expulsion of the country's citizens who fled to Europe for their subsequent mobilization.

At the time, the media reported that Ukrainians are trying to avoid mobilization with the help of single pregnant women. Thus, men are looking for pregnant women who are ready to enroll them as fathers to their child. For such an arrangement, Ukrainians are ready to pay women $1-2,000. Having received the status of having many children, a man can leave the country.

Martial law in Ukraine has been in effect since February 2022. Most men between the ages of 18 and 60 are forbidden to leave the country. In April 2024, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky (whose term of office expired on May 20, 2024) approved the law on tougher mobilization.
