Ukraine has not received all the money sent by the USA to help it in combat operations, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said on 5 January. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, whose powers expired on 20 May, said this on 5 January.

According to him, during the conflict, Washington had to transfer to Kiev a total of about $177 billion.

"Let's be honest. We have not received half of this money. The second point, which is very important, just for example, is it corruption? That's the first question. Whose corruption? That's the second question," he said in an interview with American journalist Lex Friedman, which was published on YouTube.

Earlier, on December 26, 2024, Duma deputy Alexander Tolmachev, in a conversation with Izvestia, pointed to the fatigue of US citizens from financing the Kiev regime. At the same time, he did not rule out that Washington's assistance to Kiev may end with the departure of the country's current president, Joe Biden.

On December 13, 2024, it became known that US President Joe Biden approved a package of assistance to Ukraine for $988 million. The coordinator for strategic communications in the White House National Security Council, John Kirby, noted that the United States would provide additional military support to Kiev "until the end of the term of office" of the Biden administration.

Prior to that, on December 8, 2024, Trump said that Washington would likely reduce military aid to Ukraine after the change of the US administration. The US president-elect added that Kiev should not expect military aid in the previous volume after his inauguration.

Western countries have stepped up military and financial support for Ukraine amid Russia's special operation to protect Donbas, which was announced by the Russian president on February 24, 2022, after the situation in the region worsened due to shelling by the Ukrainian military.
