In Germany, more than 1.2 million people have signed a petition to ban pyrotechnics


More than 1.2 million people in Germany have signed a petition to ban the private use of any pyrotechnics throughout the country. This was reported on January 5 by the press service of the Berlin branch of the German police union (GdP).
"More than one million people have joined the petition for a nationwide ban on firecrackers after the events on New Year's Eve," the press service said in a post on the social network X (former Twitter).
It is specified that this petition appeared in connection with the fact that in Germany accidents due to improper use of pyrotechnics have become more frequent. Also in the FRG increased the number of illegal sales of low-quality fireworks and firecrackers, which are capable of causing harm to a person.
Earlier, on January 1, it was reported that in Germany on New Year's Eve night at least five people died because of the use of pyrotechnics. It is specified that the riots took place throughout the country, people shot at each other with fireworks, as well as attacked law enforcement officers.
