Scholz has stated his unwillingness to fight for Musk's favor

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said that he will not fight for the favor of American entrepreneur Ilon Musk. He told the publication Stern on January 4.
"I do not believe it is possible to win Mr. Musk's favor. I am happy to leave that to others," Scholz said.
Speaking about insults from the businessman, the FRG chancellor noted that many people with the help of barbed remarks seek to attract attention.
Earlier, on December 31, Musk published in social network X post with insulting Scholz. On the same day, the American businessman expressed confidence in the victory of the party "Alternative for Germany" (AdG) in the upcoming parliamentary elections.
Before that, on December 30, Berlin said that Musk was trying to influence the German elections with posts on his social network X and an article in the newspaper Welt am Sonntag in support of the right-wing Alternative for Germany party.
On December 16, 2024, the Bundestag held a plenary session to pass a vote of confidence in the government. The meeting resulted in a vote of no confidence in Scholz.
Early parliamentary elections in Germany will be held on February 23, 2025. They were scheduled after the coalition of the Social Democratic Party (SPD), the Greens and the Free Democratic Party (FDP), formed in 2021, collapsed.
