The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) is transferring 20 percent of military medics to the ranks of infantrymen on the order of the commander-in-chief of the Ukrainian army, Oleksandr Syrskyy. This was revealed on January 2 by a prisoner of war medic Yevhen Naboka.

It is specified that Naboka was mobilized in August 2022 and served as an orderly at the military medical clinical center of the Northern region in Kharkiv, before surrendering in November 2024.

"An order came from Kiev, Syrsky - 20% of the employees of all hospitals in Ukraine large transferred to combat units. Transferred to the 113th brigade of the TRO. On November 10, we were taken from the hospital on two buses. They took away part of the orderlies," - "RIA Novosti" quotes the words of the prisoner of war.

He specified that after that, there was information about the creation of another list of 100 people, adds "Gazeta.Ru".

Earlier, on January 1, a captured AFU fighter Vitaly Mikhalenko said that the staff of the territorial centers of manning and social support (TSC, an analogue of the military recruitment office) drafted a man with autism into the ranks of the AFU. It is noted that he was sedentary, withdrawn and almost did not speak.

In April last year, the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, whose powers expired on May 20, 2024, signed the law on toughening mobilization. In particular, he lowered the age of mobilization from 27 to 25 and signed a law on the creation of an electronic register of persons liable for military service, which combines information on the personal data of Ukrainians, including details of internal and foreign passports. There are no provisions on demobilization in the documents.

Martial law in the country has been in effect since February 2022. At the same time Zelensky signed a decree on general mobilization. Later, the Verkhovna Rada repeatedly extended its effect. Most men between the ages of 18 and 60 are prohibited from leaving the country.
