State Duma deputy names average old-age pension in 2025

Deputy of the State Duma from "United Russia" Nikita Chaplin reported on December 30 in a conversation with "RIA Novosti" that in 2025 the average old-age pension will be about 24 thousand rubles.

"In the next (2025. - Ed.) year, the average old-age insurance pension will amount to 24059.12 rubles," the official said.

Thus, pension payments will increase by 7% compared to 2024. The amendments to the legislation, which will be made next year, will apply to non-working pensioners.

Moreover, in February 2025, the pension will also be indexed to the inflation rate. It is noted that additional indexation of pensions will affect about 37 million people.

Earlier, November 30, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed the law on the budget of the Pension and Social Insurance Fund for 2025-2027, according to which the social pension will be indexed by 14.75%. After indexation, its amount will be 15,456 rubles on April 1, 2025. In addition, insurance pensions will be increased by 7.3% from January 1, 2025.

Before that, on November 24, Putin signed the law on increasing the period of payment of funded pensions for 2025 to 22.5 years. The law will come into force on January 1, 2025.

At the same time, a member of the State Duma Committee on Labor, Social Policy and Veterans Affairs Svetlana Bessarab said that in Russia from January 1, 2025 will increase pensions for working and non-working citizens of the country. She noted that the government will be able to increase this figure until February 1, 2025, if the indexation does not correspond to the inflation rate.
