More than 40% of Russians said they believe in the existence of Ded Moroz


Ded Moroz still plays a significant role in the holiday - 45% of Russians say they believe in his existence. This is reported in a study by international express delivery operator SDEK, which was reviewed by Izvestia on December 31.
According to the analysts' study, 74% of respondents agreed that Ded Moroz deserves a vacation or a gift for the New Year, emphasizing his considerable efforts. Also, 9% expressed the opinion that he should take a short break during the holidays. At the same time, 8% of respondents believe that he should continue working without breaks, as he epitomizes the spirit of the New Year holidays.
In addition, Russians approached the question of gifts for Santa Claus with creativity. One third would choose a handmade craft or souvenir as a gift, 31% would prefer a basket of goodies, and 28% suggested a toy that brings joy to children. At the same time, 63% of the survey participants believe that a gift must be accompanied by a card with a personal wish, while 16% are ready to leave it anonymous.
The experts emphasized that the question of what kind of gift would bring Santa Claus the most pleasure became particularly interesting. 48% of respondents believe that gifts with children's drawings and letters of gratitude will bring him the greatest happiness, 20% chose toys made by children's hands, 15% suggested a set of practical things, and 14% - a package with traditional sweets from different countries.
Earlier, on December 23, SDEK conducted a study, which was reviewed by Izvestia, on the preferences of Russians in receiving gifts for the New Year. Analysts noted that the largest number of respondents prefer to organize and deliver New Year gifts on their own: 66% manage it themselves, 9% entrust this task to their parents, and 8% - to their partner.
