In Yoshkar-Ola, police detained a pensioner who set fireworks on fire in two branches of "Russian Post" on the instructions of fraudsters. This was reported on December 28 in the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Mari El.

"The police officers in the shortest possible time the offender was identified and brought to the police department. She turned out to be 62-year-old Yoshkarolinka", - noted in the message.

It is established that on December 25 she became a victim of fraud and transferred to the attackers more than 1.7 million rubles, after which the swindlers persuaded her to commit illegal actions allegedly to return the funds.

On the fact of the incident a criminal case was initiated under Art. 213 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Hooliganism").

Earlier, on December 26, the police detained a resident of the Ulyanovsk region, who launched fireworks in a bank branch in Syzran. It is noted that there are no casualties. Damage to the building is not caused. The man was taken to the police station for further investigation.

Also on December 22, it became known that the number of attempts to set fire to administrative buildings and banks under the influence of fraudsters increased by 30% over the past week. It is specified that the attackers contact the victims, from whom they stole funds, and promise to return the money after the conclusion of the deal, which involves the performance of illegal actions. Often the process of the attack is asked to be filmed, and the money is not returned as a result.
