The strangest New Year's traditions of Russians have been named

About half of the surveyed (45%) Russians practice special rituals, and the most popular of them are burning a wish list or problems on a napkin (15%), throwing old clothes and shoes out of the window (12%), and baking a coin in a cake (9%). This follows from the results of the survey of the marketplace "Profi.ru", which were read by "Izvestia" on December 29. Among unusual traditions: electricians storing valenoks in the freezer.

The majority of Russians (72%) are sure that unusual traditions can create vivid memories. They also claim that New Year rituals add magic and a sense of fairy tale. At the same time, 19% of respondents noted that such customs do not affect the atmosphere of the holiday and that they prefer to stick to the usual traditions.

The most famous and popular is still burning written on a napkin - it is practiced by at least 15% of survey participants. The second most popular ritual is throwing old clothes and shoes out of the window (12%). Baking a coin in a pie as a symbol of good luck attracts 9% of Russians. Setting the Christmas tree upside down (8%) and storing valenoks in the freezer to attract prosperity (7%) are also in the top 5.

Among other traditions Russians plan to: make a snowman on the balcony, distribute tangerines to neighbors, cook dumplings with predictions and leave an empty plate on the holiday table. At the same time, 37% of respondents said that they prefer to stick to classic rituals without trying anything new.

At the same time, experts noted that some traditions, which have long been considered an integral part of the New Year, are beginning to lose popularity. For example, launching fireworks and pyrotechnics bored 25% of Russians. Another 21% noted that watching TV on New Year's Eve no longer brings pleasure. For 16% of respondents the tradition of making wishes under the chimes is outdated.

Representatives of different professions have their own unusual rituals. Thus, electricians (14%) keep valenki in the freezer to "freeze" all breakdowns and accidents in the coming year - it is believed that this ritual brings stability and order in their work. Plumbers (11%) prefer to throw old shoes or clothes out of the window, believing that in this way they get rid of clogs and other professional problems.

Cleaners (10%) often leave a piece of bread outside the door for the spirits of the house, hoping that this gesture will attract not only good luck but also more orders in the new year. Massage therapists (9%) like to place a Christmas tree upside down to symbolically "flip" clients' fatigue into positive energy.

Designers (8%) and stylists (7%) are more likely than others to burn a list of problems written on a napkin to open the way for new creative ideas and inspiration. Nutritionists (6%) choose to bake a coin in a pie as a symbol of prosperity and health, and coaches (5%) sculpt snowmen on the balcony to attract stability and success for their team.
