Nutriciologist, medical editor, Biogena wellness expert Irina Popkova spoke on Friday, December 27, about the importance of a balanced diet and following healthy rules to preserve immunity in times of stress and high loads.

According to the expert, vitamins and minerals are necessary for good immunity, especially vitamin C, which is found in citrus fruits and berries; vitamin D - in fish and eggs and zinc - in meat and seafood. In case of vitamin deficiencies, especially in an unbalanced diet, nutraceuticals with optimal dosages of these substances are recommended.

Nutriciologist noted that moderate exercise is useful for immunity, especially morning walks. They activate immune cells, help fight infections, promote vitamin D production and improve metabolism.

"It's important to remember that excessive exercise can weaken the immune system, so light to moderate exercise is more beneficial. The main thing is to do it regularly, not on an ad hoc basis," - quotes her words "Gazeta.Ru".

Lack of sleep and irregular sleep are harmful to the immune system. Adults need to sleep seven or eight hours every night. It is important to follow the sleep schedule, turn off gadgets half an hour before bedtime, sleep in a cool (17-19 degrees) and dark room, Popkova added.

She stated that chronic stress weakens the body due to cortisol. To reduce damage to health, it is recommended to practice meditation, devote time to hobbies and communication with loved ones. It is worth starting a magnesium intake. It is also important to maintain water balance and drink enough water a day, especially when taking medications, playing sports and stressful situations.

Earlier, on December 25, a nutritionist, gastroenterologist Gastro Clinic Roman Malkov said that stress and negative emotions can play a key role in the occurrence of irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). It is specified that they can cause spasms in the biliary tract, which disrupts the outflow of bile. Insufficient bile flow causes incomplete breakdown of fats, which leads to abdominal bloating, heaviness and constipation.
