IT specialists told about their main fears

The majority of surveyed IT specialists (79%) reported that they consider their biggest fear due to the rapid development of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies is not losing their jobs, but the spread of fraudulent schemes with diplomas and leaks of confidential data. This follows from the results of the research of IT-company QTIM and online recruiting platform hh.ru, with which "Izvestia" got acquainted on December 27. The experts conducted a joint survey among Russian IT workers.
In addition, some respondents noted that they fear a massive deterioration in the quality of code and a decrease in the number of qualified personnel on the labor market.
At the same time, 61% of respondents suggested that in the next five years neural networks will become one of the mandatory tools for experienced developers, but they will not be able to replace qualified employees. Developers explained this by the fact that AI does not have the ability to understand product scaling requirements, see the whole project and maintain a code structure identical to linters. At the same time, smart algorithms are not able to test their own solutions and draw conclusions about how correct they are.
At the same time, the rapid development of artificial intelligence technologies may lead to a radical transformation of professions when developers switch from writing code to writing queries to neural networks, some interviewees believe.
"It is quite logical to expect AI to replace employees on routine tasks, as well as those who work without development aspirations. This will allow businesses to significantly reduce costs and invest the saved money in new promising areas. However, AI will not be able to replace experienced and competent professionals. Those who have strategic thinking and creative approach will become even more in demand in the labor market," said Anton Fokin, CEO of the IT company QTIM.
The experts also found out that almost half (48%) of IT specialists use neural networks every day. At the same time, 24% of all respondents, on the contrary, never use AI services in principle - these are most often analysts and project managers.
Among the main tasks that AI helps to solve, respondents highlighted the acceleration of information search, idea generation, reduction of routine and optimization of workload. With the help of neural networks, some specialists simplify the text of complex documentation and compose messages to respond to clients.
Earlier, on December 26, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko said that Russia is one of the world leaders in the development of artificial intelligence technologies. According to him, Russian scientists have unique neural processors and mathematical models.
