In Krasnodar, a former police officer, ex-criminal investigation chief of the Department of Internal Affairs of Anapa, Igor Nekhaenko, was sentenced to 20 years in a strict regime colony, ordered to pay a fine of Br800 thousand and deprived of the special rank of "lieutenant colonel of police. This was reported on December 26 by the joint press service of the courts of Krasnodar region.

He was found guilty under several articles of the Criminal Code, among them participation in a gang, murder and possession of weapons.

"It follows from the verdict that from June 1999 to December 2004 <...> Nehaenko, using his official position, organized the collection of information about persons who were attacked with the purpose of murder, as well as participated in the planning of crimes and took the measures necessary to not bring gang members to criminal responsibility," - stated in the message of the press service.

Thus, in 2004, Nehaenko committed an armed attack on the director of LLC "Goods for children" and killed him. In 2013, the criminal, acting as part of a gang, attacked the deputy ataman of the Anapa city Cossack society, causing him a gunshot wound and killing his driver.

"The criminal activity of the gang was suppressed by employees of the FSSB of Russia in Krasnodar region", - added in the department.

Earlier, on November 18, it became known that the jury will consider a new criminal case against Sergei Balikhin - the leader of the gang "Yellow Chrysanthemums", which in the 2000s killed merchants and robbed jewelry stores in Moscow.

Balikhin, who was sentenced to life in prison in 2014, has more than a dozen robberies and murders to his credit. Now new episodes have appeared in the case - Balikhin confessed to the murder of a businesswoman in 2007 and a cab driver in 2010.
