Police uncover 70 brothels and 20 apartments with illegal migrants in Moscow

Moscow police officers have identified 70 organized brothels for prostitution in three districts of the capital, as well as 20 apartments where illegal migrants were accommodated. This was reported by the official representative of the Russian Interior Ministry Irina Volk on December 25.

The police conducted 90 searches in residential premises in the Southern, South-Eastern and Eastern districts of Moscow, Volk specified.

"As a result, the activity of 70 brothels for prostitution was stopped, 20 apartments were revealed, in which illegal migrants were accommodated, 135 protocols on administrative offenses were drawn up, in particular for prostitution and violation of the regime of stay in the Russian Federation", - stated in the Telegram-channel of the official representative of the department.

Also detained were nine men who are organizers of illegal activities, including the leader of an organized criminal group (OCG). The detentions took place in Moscow, Chuvashia and Kuban. Five of the defendants were arrested, while the rest are under a recognizance not to leave the country.

According to preliminary data, the criminal income of the gang's organizer was more than 5 million rubles a month. The other participants were paid 80 thousand rubles a month. Bank cards, money, cell phones, data carriers and papers on which the black accounting was conducted were seized. Ten criminal cases were opened under Article 241 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Organization of prostitution"). They were combined with an earlier case on the organization of illegal migration.

Before that, on November 12, law enforcers conducted searches in a hostel on Talalikhina Street in Moscow, where more than 300 foreigners were found. According to the Moscow department of the Investigative Committee (IC) of Russia, investigators seized financial and economic documentation of the hostel. The management and administration of the establishment were also taken to the station for investigative actions.
