Ukraine's State Border Service reported a record number of people crossing the border
Over the past 24 hours, 150,000 citizens crossed the state border of Ukraine for entry and exit, which is one of the highest figures in recent years. About it on December 22 reported the State border service of the country.
"The pre-Christmas period caused a record number of crossings of the state border. Over the past day it was crossed by 150 thousand citizens," - stated in the Telegram-channel of the Department.
It is noted that the growth of those wishing to leave the country was recorded at all sites. However, the largest passenger flow is observed at checkpoints on the border with Poland.
No significant advantage of the number of those entering over those leaving has not been recorded: there are about 75 thousand crossings in both directions.
Earlier, on December 20, the portal MTV Uutiset, citing data from the Finnish Migration Service, reported that the Finnish authorities were thinking about finding a legal way to return Ukrainian refugees to Ukraine. As the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, commented, by authorizing the deportation of Ukrainian refugees, the Finnish authorities are sending them to their deaths, which is a "fantastic meanness".
Prior to that, on December 16, a representative of the Ukrainian state border service Andriy Demchenko said that in Ukraine since February 2022 identified about 700 groups that helped Ukrainians to avoid mobilization by fleeing abroad.
Earlier, on December 10, the press service of the State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) of the country said that for 2024 in Ukraine opened 287 criminal cases on illegal transportation of citizens of conscription age across the border. It is reported that this was facilitated by corruption among employees of military enlistment offices (MECs), doctors and law enforcement agencies. The total amount of bribes amounted to $273.8 thousand.
