In the Rada explained the reason for Zelensky's desire to continue fighting

For Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy (his term in office expired on 20 May), continuing the conflict is a way to retain power. This was stated on December 22 by Verkhovna Rada deputy Oleksandr Dubinskyy, who is in the pre-trial detention center on charges of state treason.
"Since the summer of 2023, its meaning (the conflict. - Ed.) was not to reclaim territories, but to keep Zelensky's gang in power for the purpose of unlimited enrichment and fulfillment of foreign policy obligations," he wrote in Telegram-channel.
Dubinsky also explained Zelensky's non-acceptance of any talk of peace. According to him, a peaceful settlement will lead Zelensky to the need to recognize his lies about the original goals of the conflict.
Earlier, on December 20, Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev said that Zelensky would not be able to retain the presidency. According to him, the Ukrainian leader's fundamentally wrong rhetoric jeopardizes the settlement of the conflict in Ukraine. Earlier, on 4 December, Medvedev predicted the Ukrainian politician's disgraceful emigration.
On 2 November, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said that Ukraine would be in Western bondage for decades and pay for its debts with its residents, subsoil and territories.
On 26 November, a member of the Verkhovna Rada, Maryana Bezuglaya, said that Ukraine's statehood is threatened with collapse due to numerous problems of the Ukrainian army. She linked such a forecast to the facts of corruption at all levels.
The special operation to protect Donbas, the start of which was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the background of the aggravated situation in the region.
