The Moscow City Duma reminded about the increase of social additional payment to pensions of Muscovites

From January 1, 2025 the amount of social supplementary payment in Moscow will be increased, and taking into account it the pension monthly payment will be up to 25,850 rubles. This was announced on December 22 by the chairman of the Moscow City Duma Commission on Economic and Social Policy Lyudmila Guseva.

"Depending on the presence and terms of permanent residence in the city of Moscow, the regional social supplementary payment is made to non-working pensioners: either to the value of the minimum subsistence level of the pensioner, the minimum subsistence level is indexed from January 1, 2025 by 5.5% and will amount to 17 897 rubles - for pensioners permanently residing in Moscow for less than 10 years. It is specified that the Moscow standard will also be indexed by 5.5% and for pensioners who permanently reside in Moscow for more than 10 years, will amount to 25 850 rubles. In addition, Guseva reminded that the issue of indexation of pensions is handled by the Social Fund of the Russian Federation.

Earlier, on December 13, the general director of the professional legal group AID, lawyer David Adams told "Izvestia" that federal and regional social additional payments to pensions play an important role in supporting pensioners whose income does not reach the subsistence level.

Before that, on November 30, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed the law on the budget of the Pension and Social Insurance Fund for 2025-2027, according to which the social pension will be indexed by 14.75%. After indexation, its amount will be 15,456 rubles on April 1, 2025. In addition, insurance pensions will be increased by 7.3% on January 1, 2025.
