Russians intend to watch movies and TV series on online platforms on New Year's Eve

More than 20% of Russians will prefer to watch movies and TV series on online platforms on New Year's Eve, in addition to traditional New Year's Eve shows on TV, according to a Rambler&Co poll available to Izvestia. Online cinemas will show the movie "New Year's Miracle," the comedies "Baba Yaga Saves the New Year" and "One Day in Istanbul."

Despite the loss of former popularity, the format of New Year's TV shows retains a family atmosphere, the survey notes, 82% of those who watch them do so in the circle of loved ones. Every 10th person stays alone with the screen, 5% prefer to watch with friends, and 3% change the company every year.

Interest in "blue lights" is often retained due to habit - so answered 29% of viewers.

"21% prefer to revisit their favorite movies and TV series on online platforms, 8% find alternative music shows on the Internet, and 6% watch new movies on New Year's themes. 7% accompany the holiday with music, and 6% play board games," the report says.
