The number of injured in the collision of passenger and freight trains in the Murmansk region has risen to 21, three of them - children. This was reported by the source of "Izvestia" on December 18.

It is specified that 18 people are hospitalized, four of whom are in serious condition. The rest of the injured are being treated on an outpatient basis.

According to the source, a temporary accommodation center (TAC) has also been deployed on the basis of secondary school No. 6 in Zelenogorsky settlement, where 17 people are staying.

In addition, he said that it is planned to continue the movement of the train further along the route in the composition of nine cars.

Earlier, Assistant Minister of Health Alexei Kuznetsov reported about 17 victims of the collision, including three minors. He specified that 13 victims have already been taken to hospitals and are being examined, ambulance crews are transporting four more people. Governor of the Murmansk region Andrei Chibis also published a list of 15 hospitalized victims.

A passenger train traveling on the Murmansk - St. Petersburg route collided with a freight train. As a result of the collision, three cars of the passenger train and several freight cars derailed.

At the time of the accident in the passenger train were 326 people, including pupils of children's sports school boxing from Severomorsk. It was noted that the children and the coach were not injured. The press service of Russian Railways reported that one of the victims died in the ambulance. Her identity is being established.

After the collision of the trains, the transport department of the Investigative Committee (IC) of Russia initiated a criminal case under Article 263 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Violation of the rules of safety of movement and operation of railway transport"). The head of the Russian Investigative Committee, Alexander Bastrykin, then demanded a report on the progress of the investigation.

"Izvestia" also published footage from the passenger train. They show people trying to pass from one carriage to another, but because of the deformation, the doors do not open. Some passengers can not get to their belongings, as they remained in the affected parts of the train.
