Moscow knows who ordered the terrorist act against the head of the Radiation, Chemical and Biological Defense Forces (RCBZ) of the Russian Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Igor Kirillov. This was stated by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov on December 18.

"It is now obvious who are the customers, who are the organizers of this terrorist act," he said at a briefing.

According to Peskov, the Kiev regime "does not shy away from terrorist methods of work." He added that the fight against Nazism will continue.

In addition, the Kremlin spokesman emphasized the effective and fast work of law enforcement agencies, thanks to which many details about the crime became known.

On the same day it was reported that the FSB of Russia detained a 29-year-old citizen of Uzbekistan in the case of the murder of Kirillov and his assistant Ilya Polikarpov. During interrogation, the man explained that he had been recruited by the Ukrainian security services. He said that he was also promised $100,000 and a trip to live in one of the EU countries.

In addition, it became known that the footage from the camera in the carshare car parked near Kirillov's house was broadcast online in the Ukrainian city of Dnipro (formerly Dnipropetrovsk). According to the agency, after Kirillov left the entrance, the explosive device was activated.

Igor Kirillov and his assistant were killed on the morning of December 17 as a result of the detonation of an explosive device planted in a scooter standing near the entranceway. The explosion occurred near a seven-story apartment building on Ryazansky Avenue in Moscow. A criminal case of murder, terrorist act and illegal arms trafficking (Article 105, Article 205 and Article 222 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) was opened over the incident.

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova noted that Kirillov had been systematically exposing Western crimes for many years, working fearlessly and never hiding behind the backs of others. In turn, the Russian Foreign Ministry's ambassador-at-large for Ukraine 's crimes, Rodion Miroshnik, said that the evidence cited by the general was threatening and painful for Russia's adversaries.

Kostroma Region Governor Sergei Sitnikov said Kirillov had warned that he was being hunted. State Department spokesman Matthew Miller later said the US had nothing to do with the terrorist attack in Moscow that killed servicemen. Pentagon spokesman Patrick Ryder also said that the U.S. was not involved in the attack and did not contribute to it in any way.
