The air temperature in Moscow during the day will vary from -10 to -8 degrees. At night the thermometer columns will drop to -17.

In the Moscow region during the day forecasters promise from -13 to -8 degrees, at night the temperature may fall to -19.

Northwest wind with a speed of 6-11 m/s is expected, wind gusts up to 15 m/s are possible.

Atmospheric pressure will be 740-745 mm of mercury column.

On the eve, December 17, the scientific head of the Russian Hydrometeorological Center Roman Vilfand said that on Wednesday the temperature in the capital will drop sharply to -15 ... -19 degrees, and on Thursday it will return to zero. The forecaster noted that the temperature will reach its minimum values on Thursday night. This is due to the fact that Moscow will be on the "crest of high pressure" between the two cyclones.

Earlier, on December 16, the head of the forecasting center "Meteo" Alexander Shuvalov said that before going into the plus area of the temperature scale, the region should be visited by strong frosts. According to him, the coldest will be the night of Thursday, December 19- up to -19 degrees Celsius.
