Russia's Permanent Mission to the UN will raise the issue of Kirillov's death at the Security Council meeting

Russia will raise the issue of the terrorist attack on the head of the radiation, chemical and biological defense troops of the Russian Armed Forces (AF), Lieutenant General Igor Kirillov, at a meeting of the UN Security Council (UNSC). This was reported on Tuesday, December 17, by Dmitry Polyansky, First Deputy Deputy Permanent Representative of the Russian mission to the world organization.

"We will definitely raise the issue of the terrorist attack on Igor Kirillov at the UNSC meeting we requested for December 20 on the supply of Western weapons to Ukraine and their impact on the prospects for a peaceful resolution of the Ukrainian crisis," he wrote in his Telegram channel.

Polyansky specified that the international community should unambiguously condemn what happened and the perpetrators should be held accountable.

Igor Kirillov and his assistant were killed on the morning of December 17 as a result of detonation of an explosive device planted in a scooter, standing near the entrance. The explosion occurred near a seven-story apartment building on Ryazansky Avenue in Moscow. A criminal case of murder, terrorist act and illegal arms trafficking (Article 105, Article 205 and Article 222 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) was opened over the incident.

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova noted that Kirillov had been systematically exposing Western crimes for many years, working fearlessly and never hiding behind the backs of others. In his turn, the Russian Foreign Ministry's ambassador-at-large for Ukraine's crimes, Rodion Miroshnik, said that the evidence cited by the general was threatening and painful for Russia's opponents.
