In Spain reported the intention to increase the number of the Armed Forces by 20 thousand people.

The Government of Spain intends to increase the number of personnel of its armed forces (AF), such a decision was taken for the first time in more than 10 years. About it on Tuesday, December 17, writes the newspaper El Pais.

"The government is finalizing a royal decree on the number of generals, officers and non-commissioned officers, as well as a ministerial order on soldiers and sailors, which will lead to a net increase in the number of soldiers by 7.5 thousand people in the period 2025-2029," - indicates the edition.

It is noted that the plans of the authorities of the kingdom for a decade to increase the number of military personnel by 20 thousand people, so that the contingent of troops amounted to 140 thousand people. This is the maximum limit for the army, established in Spain by the 2007 law "On military career".
