"People's Front" helped in hospitalization of a resident of the Luhansk People's Republic (LNR), who appealed to the call-center of the direct line of Russian President Vladimir Putin. This was reported by the press service of the movement on December 17.

It is specified that 69-year-old Yuri, suffering from diabetes, appealed to the President. Telling about the cataract diagnosed to him, the man asked for money on loan for eye surgery.

"However, after some time stopped seeing the right eye. The man can hardly see anything, can't read. For the operation on the second eye in the clinic, where the man was examined, asked for 55 thousand rubles, which the pensioner has nowhere to take - the debt for the first operation has not yet been paid," - noted in the "People's Front".

Employee of the call-center, a veteran of the special military operation (SVO) Alexander transferred the problem to the regional executive committee of the "People's Front". Representatives of the organization offered the man free transportation to the Luhansk Republican Clinical Hospital for consultation in the microsurgery department.

The pensioner was found to have changes on the eye fundus, characteristic of patients with diabetes.

"The patient needs a full examination, treatment by an endocrinologist, consultation with a surgeon and further observation by an ophthalmologist. There are no indications for cataract surgery in the patient's right eye now. We have selected a spectacle correction for near vision, which allows him to read even small print," explained Elena Korotneva, Head of the Eye Microsurgery Department of the Lugansk Regional Eye Hospital.

As the specialists explained, Yuri will need correction of insulin therapy and further monitoring to improve his vision.

The direct line of the head of state will be held on December 19, it will be combined with a large press conference. Invitations were received by representatives of Western media and foreign journalists accredited in the Russian Federation. Call-center in the headquarters of the "People's Front" began work on the night of December 8.

The previous direct line with the Russian leader was held on December 14, 2023. The President received more than 2 million appeals from citizens. He answered questions about Russia's special military operation in Ukraine, new regions of the Russian Federation, the growth of real wages, pensions, life expectancy, health care, development of artificial intelligence, and also touched on a number of other topics.
