The European Union (EU) plans to impose sanctions in connection with "hybrid actions" against 16 citizens of Russia, Georgia and Moldova, as well as three organizations. This was reported by Polskie Radio on Sunday, December 15, citing the draft list.

It follows from the document that the persons included in it will be banned from entering the EU and their assets in Europe will be frozen. They will also not be able to receive funding from the alliance of countries.

"The restrictions will come into force after publication in the Official Journal of the EU, and until then the list remains secret in order not to make it easier for those included in it to avoid sanctions," the material says.

According to them, the black list will include representatives of intelligence services and security agencies, experts and journalists.

Earlier, December 13, it became known that the foreign ministers of the European Union (EU) may approve the 15th package of anti-Russian sanctions on Monday, December 16.

Before that, on December 11, the new sanctions package of Brussels agreed by the ambassadors of European countries. It was reported that it supplements the existing list with new individuals and legal entities and targets organizations in Russia and third countries.

Western countries increased sanctions pressure on Russia after the start of the special operation to protect the peaceful population of Donbass, which was announced on February 24, 2022.
