The coldest day of this winter in Moscow was Friday, December 13. This was reported in his Telegram-channel by leading expert of the weather center "Phobos" Mikhail Leus.

"Already after noon the temperature at the base meteorological station of the metropolis at VDNKh dropped to -6.5 degrees, repeating the result achieved on December 6, and after 19 hours it became even colder, and by 21 hours the temperature reached -7.9 degrees - such is now the minimum of the current winter in the capital," - he said.

However, according to the forecaster, the temperature will drop again on the night of December 14. Leus emphasized that by morning in the capital should be expected -9... -11 degrees.

Earlier in the day, "Yandex Weather" noted that on Saturday, December 14, in Moscow, the sky will be cloudy and snow is expected throughout the day. A moderate southwesterly wind with gusts up to 3.2 m/s is forecast. In the morning the air temperature will be -7...-8 degrees, and in the evening and at night will remain at -4...-5 degrees. On Sunday, the weather will also be cloudy.

Before that, on December 11, the scientific head of the Hydrometeorological Center Roman Vilfand told "Izvestia" that the snowfall in Moscow exceeded the norm twice. According to him, the average height of the cover in the capital reached 19 centimeters.
