Lula da Silva has declared himself recovered and ready to return to work


Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva said that he has recovered from the second surgery, which he underwent due to a brain hemorrhage. He wrote about this on his page on the social network X (formerly Twitter) on Friday, December 13.
"Walking in the corridors with Marcos Stavale, the neurosurgeon in charge of my procedure, talking a lot, eating well and soon ready to go home and continue working and taking care of every Brazilian family," he said.
Lula da Silva also thanked all those who wrote to him with wishes for his health and expressed his gratitude to the doctors who treated him. The Brazilian leader noted that in the coming year 2025 he will have a lot of work and meetings around the world.
Earlier, on December 12, Lula da Silva underwent a second surgery after a brain hemorrhage. According to the medics' statement, the operation was successful.
Before that, on December 11, the media reported about another operation on the brain of the Brazilian president. It is expected that as a result of new bleeding will no longer occur, minimizing the risks to Lula's health.
Earlier, on December 10, the president was emergency hospitalized due to a brain hemorrhage. Medics called it the result of a head injury that Lula da Silva suffered in October at his home. The politician underwent surgery to remove the hematoma. He was reported to be in stable condition in the intensive care unit.
On the same day, Brazilian Vice President Geraldo Alckmin temporarily took over some of the hospitalized head of state's duties. Several events are on the schedule, including a reception in honor of Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico, a bilateral meeting, document signings and a press statement.
On October 20, Reuters reported that the Brazilian president will not travel to the BRICS summit following doctors' recommendations after suffering a head injury at home. According to a medical report from a hospital in Brasilia, Lula da Silva suffered a laceration to the back of his head. He was advised to avoid long-distance air travel.
