European Union (EU) foreign ministers may approve the 15th package of anti-Russian sanctions on Monday, December 16. A high-ranking source in Brussels told reporters on December 13.

"I hope we will adopt the 15th package of sanctions, new personal sanctions," RIA Novosti quoted him as saying.

Also at the meeting is planned to discuss the situation in Georgia and new sanctions against the Georgian leadership. In particular, we are talking about possible visa restrictions for holders of official and diplomatic passports.

Earlier, on December 11, Brussels' new sanctions package was agreed upon by the ambassadors of European countries. It was reported that it supplements the existing list with new individuals and entities and is directed against organizations in Russia and third countries.

Western countries increased sanctions pressure on Russia after the start of the special operation to protect civilians in Donbas, which was announced on February 24, 2022.
