Russians told about their plans for New Year holidays


The most common preferences were traveling, active entertainment in the hometown, as well as watching TV series and movies. This is stated in the results of the study of services "Ostrovok" and "SBER EAPTECA", which were reviewed by "Izvestia" on December 12.
According to analysts' research, 18% of respondents are going to go to a neighboring region, 12% - to spend time in nature in the countryside. More than 11% intend to celebrate the New Year by the sea, and 4% - at ski resorts.
Every fifth respondent (20%) does not intend to go away for the holidays, but hopes to find active entertainment in their city. For 12% of survey participants the main entertainment will be mass events - concerts, plays, fairs and festivals. About 7% of respondents noted that they intend to spend the weekend taking care of their health and have already planned visits to a bath, spa or massage.
According to experts, 28% of respondents intend to spend time relaxing watching movies and TV series, 17% are going to host guests at home and organize festive lunches and dinners, and 16% of respondents said that they will work during the New Year holidays.
According to the "Ostrovok" service, there is an increase in the interest of Russian tourists in sightseeing and resort destinations for the upcoming New Year holidays. In particular, the number of bookings in such cities as Vologda and Rostov-on-Don increased by 24%, in Kostroma and Vladivostok - by 12%, and in Kaliningrad, Zelenogradsk, Yekaterinburg and Krasnodar - by 5%. Among the resorts that saw an increase in bookings are Pyatigorsk with an increase of 13% and Kislovodsk and Gelendzhik, where the growth amounted to 5%.
The top ten most popular destinations for New Year holidays include Moscow, St. Petersburg, Sochi, Kazan, Kaliningrad, Nizhny Novgorod, Esto-Sadok and Krasnaya Polyana, Yaroslavl and Yekaterinburg. The average cost of a booked night in hotels and apartments in the country is 7,150 rubles - 10% higher than last year (6,500 rubles).
According to experts, those who spend the winter period in the city, visiting excursions, museums and being in places with a large number of people, should supplement their medicine cabinet with vitamins and minerals to support the immune system, such as zinc, ascorbic acid and vitamin D. Those who are planning a winter vacation at sea or in the mountains should include in their first aid kit medicines to improve digestion.
"For prevention or comprehensive treatment of a cold that has already flared up, antiviral drugs based on the active ingredient interferon are suitable. <...> To combat high fever it is important to use antipyretics, such as paracetamol, ibuprofen, acetylsalicylic acid", - summarized the pharmacist and head of the pharmacy "SBER EAPTECA" Natalia Bolotova.
Earlier, on December 3, "Izvestia" got acquainted with the survey of the platform "Work.ru" and "SberAuto" about popular destinations for New Year's travel. The survey showed a clear leadership among two cities for New Year's travel - St. Petersburg (40%) and Moscow (35%).
