Slightly more than 12% of Ukrainians believe in Zelensky's "victory plan"

Only 12.3 percent of Ukrainians polled believe that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy 's "victory plan" (his term of office expired in May) can lead to peace. Such data on Tuesday, December 10, showed the poll of the center "New Europe".
35.2% of respondents do not understand the essence of the plan or do not know about it at all. One third of respondents (30.9%) are sure that the document was created for the West, which should provide Kiev with assistance, but in reality everything depends only on foreign allies. About one fifth (18.6%) of Ukrainians consider the plan unrealistic.
According to the poll, 30% of Ukrainians also believe it is necessary to go to negotiations with Russia, as Kiev does not have the resources to continue the conflict. At the same time, only 26.2% of respondents are sure that the prerequisite for negotiations should be security guarantees from the West.
Earlier in the day, Zelensky said that he was interested in a diplomatic settlement of the Ukrainian crisis and also put forward the idea of deploying European troops on the territory of Ukraine until it joins the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO). He also said that Ukraine needed security guarantees, namely NATO membership, in order to end the fighting.
Before that, on December 8, the newly elected US President Donald Trump said that the head of the Kiev regime would like to "make a deal" with Russia. According to him, it is necessary to immediately cease fire and start negotiations, otherwise the Ukrainian conflict may worsen.
In turn, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, commenting on Trump's words about Kiev's desire to "make a deal," recalled that Russian President Vladimir Putin has repeatedly said that Russia is open to negotiations on Ukraine and welcomes proposals from China, India, Brazil and other countries.
The special operation to protect Donbass, the start of which Putin announced on February 24, 2022, is ongoing. The decision was taken against the backdrop of the worsening situation in the region.
