The main flag of Ukraine, which is located at the Motherland monument in Kiev, had to be removed from the flagpole because the state symbol was damaged due to bad weather. This was reported by the Kiev city state administration (KSCA) on December 10.

"In Kiev, the main flag of the country was temporarily removed to replace the cloth. According to the information of "Kievzelenstroy", the flag was damaged due to unfavorable weather conditions", - stated in the Telegram-channel of the KSCA.

It is planned that the work to replace the flag will be completed by the evening of Wednesday, December 11. As the Ukrainian edition of "Focus" adds, it is now 0 degrees Celsius in Kiev. It is raining and snowing in many regions of the country. In the following days it is expected to cool down to -12 degrees Celsius.

Last year in late November, strong winds twice damaged the country's largest flag. The first time the wind tore the flag of Ukraine on November 27. Then the Ukrainian city administration noted that the flag was lowered on the eve of deteriorating weather conditions, but strong wind gusts still damaged the cloth. After, on November 30, the authorities reported that the wind tore the cloth for the second time in a week.

The construction of the flagpole is the largest in Ukraine. Its height is almost 90 meters, weight - 32 tons. The size of the flag cloth is 16 × 24 meters.
