Statements about the potential deployment of NATO troops to Ukraine are speculations. This was stated by Polish Defense Minister Vladyslav Kosiniak-Kamysz on December 10.

"Statements about the alleged introduction of NATO troops to Ukraine are all speculation. In this case, the word 'speculation' is the best word, because there are one proposal, then another, then another, then another," Kosiniak-Kamysh said on Radio Zet.

Asked about US President-elect Donald Trump's peace plan, the minister noted that it has not been officially confirmed.

"Various scenarios are being considered. We will act as allies. The key role should be played by NATO, not by individual countries," the Polish defense minister said.

He also spoke about the deterioration of Ukraine's position on the front in recent weeks. According to the minister, the Russian Armed Forces (AF) are advancing rapidly and advancing, taking back territory. According to the minister, the Ukrainian population feels "tremendous fatigue" from the conflict, and desertions have increased among the Ukrainian military.

On 10 December, the head of Poland's National Security Bureau, Jacek Severa, said that it was necessary to rule out the participation of Polish servicemen in the conflict in Ukraine.

On December 1, a demonstration was held in Paris against sending Western servicemen to Ukraine and in support of halting arms supplies to Kiev. German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said on 4 December that Germany would not send its troops to the Ukrainian conflict zone.

Western countries have stepped up military and financial support for Ukraine amid Russia's special operation to protect Donbas, which was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin on 24 February 2022 after the situation in the region worsened due to shelling by the Ukrainian military.
