Ukraine 's situation on the frontline has deteriorated very badly in recent weeks, Polish Defense Minister Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysz said on December 10.

"The Russians have accelerated [in the offensive] very much, they are recapturing masses of territory, advancing every day. They are doing it much faster than they did in the whole of 2023," he told Radio Zet.

According to the minister, Ukraine's population feels "tremendous fatigue" from the conflict, and desertions have increased among the Ukrainian military.

Earlier in the day, the director of Russia's Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR), Sergey Naryshkin, said that the Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF) are on the verge of collapse and the situation on the front is not in Kiev's favor. He pointed out that the strategic initiative in all areas belongs to the Russian army, which is close to achieving its goals.
