The Central Bank has no plans to issue a RUB 10,000 bill

As of today, there are no such plans, Deputy Chairman of the Central Bank Sergei Belov said in an interview with Izvestia, answering the question whether the regulator considers it necessary to think about issuing a 10,000-ruble bill.
"The decision to issue new denominations is always made based on the current economic situation in the country, the needs of cash money circulation, the ratio between the volume of cash and non-cash payments. We observe a significant growth of non-cash payments, so we are confident that the nominal range of banknotes and coins today is optimal," he said.
He specified that the regulator will monitor the situation, but for now the issue of the 10,000 bill is irrelevant.
