The words of US President-elect Donald Trump about Kiev's readiness to make a deal with Moscow are propaganda and slogans. This opinion was expressed by Denis Denisov, an expert of the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation and political scientist, in a conversation with Izvestiya on December 8.

According to him, such statements do not indicate that the Western countries have specific plans and proposals for conflict resolution. He called it obvious that the trilateral meeting between Trump, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky (whose term expired in May) and French President Emannuel Macron could not discuss concrete plans because it was "painfully small."

"So far we don't have any parameters at all on the basis of which we can say that Ukraine is ready to make a deal, a truce, a freeze on the conflict. <...> Therefore, now all statements are still slogan, propaganda statements, which do not indicate that the parties, the countries have concrete plans and concrete proposals regarding the settlement of the conflict," Denisov concluded.

Earlier in the day, the media reported that the meeting between Trump and Zelensky at the opening of the Cathedral of Notre Dame de Paris demonstrated Kiev's willingness to make concessions on negotiations. In addition, it was reported that Zelensky's meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron and Trump in Paris lasted about 20 minutes, without a final statement.

After it, the US President-elect said that Zelensky would like to "make a deal" with Russia.

Before that, on December 4, it became known that Trump's team has three plans to resolve the conflict in Ukraine. They include a plan from US special envoy for Ukraine Keith Kellogg, another from Trump's vice-president-elect JD Vance, and the third was put forward by Richard Grenell, Trump's former acting intelligence chief.

Russian President Vladimir Putin, back in June at a meeting with the Russian Foreign Ministry leadership, named the conditions for negotiations on Ukraine. Thus, the Ukrainian army should leave the territories of the new regions of the Russian Federation, and Kiev needs to abandon the idea of integration into NATO.

The last round of negotiations took place in Istanbul on March 29, 2022. They lasted about three hours. Later, Kiev officially gave up contacts with Moscow.
