Lavrov said the West is bragging and discussing an ultimatum to Russia

Western countries are boasting that Russia will be given an ultimatum on the conflict in Ukraine at one of the conferences. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said in an interview with American journalist Tucker Carlson published on December 6.
"Westerners have held several series of meetings, a conference in Copenhagen, a summit in Bürgenstock. They boast that in the first half of next year they will convene another conference and this time they will "kindly invite" Russia to it. And, they say, then Russia will be given an ultimatum. All this is being repeated in all seriousness through various confidential channels," Lavrov said.
According to the minister, Western countries still support "the absolutely meaningless 'peace formula' of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky" (his term expired on May 20), which was recently supplemented with a "victory plan."
In addition, the Russian Foreign Minister noted that, according to the leaders of the Kiev regime, Ukraine should be admitted to NATO by extending the North Atlantic Alliance's guarantees to the territory controlled by the country's government, while other territories would allegedly become "subject to negotiations."
"But the end result of these 'negotiations' should be in fact the complete withdrawal of Russia from Ukrainian territory, leaving the Russian people at the mercy of the Nazi regime, which has destroyed all the rights of Russian and Russian-speaking citizens," Lavrov concluded.
Earlier, on November 30, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said that it is not worth playing Russian roulette with Germany's security through Russia's ultimatums.
The head of the Christian Democratic Union (CDU), Friedrich Merz, said on November 12 that if elected, he might issue an ultimatum to Russia and lift restrictions on the use of cruise missiles transferred to the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). However, he later retracted his words on December 3 about an ultimatum to supply Kiev with Taurus missiles and strike Russian President Vladimir Putin with long-range weapons.
The special operation to defend Donbass, which Russian President Vladimir Putin announced would begin on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the backdrop of the aggravated situation in the region.
