The first deputy chairman of the State Duma's Foreign Affairs Committee, Aleksey Chepa, has called on German Foreign Minister Annalena Berbock to go to the war zone in Ukraine.

Thus, in a conversation with Lenta.Ru on Wednesday, December 4, the parliamentarian reacted to Berbock's words about the possibility of sending German soldiers to Ukraine to enforce the ceasefire.

Chepa noted that some time ago Western leaders urged Ukraine to fight "to the last Ukrainian", promising to help by supplying weapons. After that, the mobilization age was changed and women began to be conscripted more often. Currently, Westerners insist that it is necessary to reduce the draft age even more, thus implementing the program of war "to the last Ukrainian".

The MP stressed that the mobilization project in Ukraine had failed, because of which Western countries are now trying to patch up the holes and send their own military to the war zone.

Chepa expressed the opinion that Berbok lacks an understanding of what threat awaits their soldiers.

"It will be a conflict not only to the last Ukrainian, but also to the last German. If she is ready, let her be the first to take the machine gun and show how it will look like," - concluded the MP.

Also on December 4, Alexander Mikhailov, head of the Bureau for Military and Political Analysis, said on Komsomolskaya Pravda radio that German Chancellor Olaf Scholz has elections in February and is afraid of losing them. He urgently needs to win back political points, and Berbock is working for his agenda by making such statements. In reality, in his opinion, no one will send official combatants to Ukraine, according to the website kp.ru.

Earlier on December 4, German Foreign Minister Annalena Berbock said at a meeting of NATO foreign ministers in Brussels that a German peacekeeping contingent could be sent to Ukraine after the conflict ends to further resolve the situation. She also explained that along with security guarantees for Ukraine in the form of NATO membership, an "international presence to enforce the ceasefire" could be considered, 360.ru noted. Earlier, the German foreign minister expressed the opinion that the ceding of territories by Kiev in exchange for NATO membership could be part of a potential peace agreement, RT wrote.

On December 3, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry said that Kiev considers NATO membership the only possible security guarantee for the country. In response, Kremlin spokesman Dmitriy Peskov said that Ukraine's accession to the alliance was unacceptable for Russia because it was a threat.

Earlier, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin said that the introduction of a "peacekeeping contingent" to Ukraine would mean direct involvement of the West in the conflict, NSN noted.

As Regnum news agency recalls, in February, French President Emmanuel Macron was the first Western leader to allow sending troops to Ukraine. In late May, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz ruled out the participation of German troops in the Ukrainian conflict.
