The IDF destroyed an explosives-laden building in the northern Gaza Strip

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) discovered and dismantled a building packed with explosives in the northern Gaza Strip. The army press office said on Monday, December 2.
"Troops are conducting sweeps of buildings equipped with explosives and used to store large quantities of weapons," the army said in its Telegram channel.
According to the army, during one of the sweeps, the Israeli military found hidden explosives in a building, as well as a camera with footage of the structure being equipped with explosives.
The army press service also added that during another raid on an armory, it found another camera with footage of a terrorist hiding explosives. Subsequently, the explosive devices and other weapons found were confiscated.
Earlier, on November 30, Israeli army spokesman for Arab media Avichai Adrai announced a ban on the movement of citizens in southern Lebanon. He also noted that Lebanese should not return to 62 villages in the south.
Prior to that, on November 27, it was reported that the IDF launched airstrikes on Beirut minutes after US President Joe Biden announced a ceasefire agreement between Israel and the Lebanese Shiite movement Hezbollah. Shortly before that, the U.S. president said that the indefinite ceasefire agreement between Lebanon and Israel would begin on November 27.
On the same day, Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir called the ceasefire with Lebanon a mistake. According to him, by concluding this agreement, Israel is walking on thin ice, as the Lebanese army does not have the authority and ability to defeat the Lebanese Shiite movement Hezbollah.
The escalation of hostilities between Israel and Hezbollah came after the events of Sept. 17 and 18, when thousands of people, including the movement's cadres, were injured when pagers and other communication devices exploded in Lebanon. The country blamed Tel Aviv for what happened. Since then, Israel has continued to eliminate the leadership of the Shiite movement and strike Lebanese territory.
The situation in the Middle East escalated on the morning of October 7, 2023, when the Palestinian radical movement Hamas subjected the territory of Israel to a massive rocket attack from the Gaza Strip. On the same day, Israel began retaliatory strikes.
