Head of social center arrested in Altai after hospitalization of 25 guests


In Altai Krai arrested for two months the head of the social organization, where there was a mass outbreak of intestinal infection among the guests. About it on Saturday, November 30, reported "Izvestia" in the regional Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation.
"A measure of restraint in the form of detention for a period of two months has been chosen against the chairman of the board of the Altai regional public organization for the adaptation of former convicts <...>," the department said.
The man is charged with committing a crime under part 3 of article 238 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Provision of services that do not meet safety requirements"), specified in the IC.
Earlier, on November 28, it became known about the death of three residents of a private social service center in the village of Kalistratikha Kalmansky district of Altai Krai. Several more people sought medical help at the same time. According to the latest data, the number of victims reached 25 people. A criminal case has been opened.
It was reported that the dead and injured recorded signs of poisoning. Later there was information that what happened was associated with acute intestinal infection. The patients were diagnosed with "acute infectious gastroenterocolitis". The wife of the head of the social center told Izvestia that the infection could have been brought in by one of the guests.
