Forecaster predicts warm weather in Russia in December

In December, temperatures above and around the norm are expected throughout Russia. This was announced on Friday, November 29, by the scientific head of the Russian Hydrometeorological Center Roman Vilfand.
"On the whole territory of the country in December there are no regions where the temperature class below the norm was predicted. Everywhere near and above the norm, but at the same time infrequent situations where temperatures are forecast above the norm in most of the country," Interfax quoted him as saying.
An increase in the temperature norm is predicted in the east of the European part of Russia, the east of the Northwestern and Central Federal Districts, the entire territory of the Volga Federal District, the Urals, most of Siberia and the northern half of the Far East. In the rest of the country the temperature will be about normal.
Such temperature is connected with the forecast of the Atlantic cyclone coming to the Asian part of the country, which is quite a rare phenomenon.
In the European part of Russia the amount of precipitation at the beginning of winter will be mostly about normal, except for the south of the Central Federal District (Ryazan, Voronezh, Tula, Lipetsk, Tambov regions), where their deficit is expected. A deficit is also forecast in northern Yakutia.
Excess precipitation is forecast in the Nenets Autonomous District, Arkhangelsk and Murmansk Regions, in the north of the Urals Federal District, in Perm Krai, Yamalo-Nenets and Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Districts, in the south-east of Siberia and in the Far East.
Earlier, November 24, Deputy Head of the Situation Center of the Russian Hydrometeorological Center Anatoly Tsygankov predicted snow for the New Year in Moscow. The expert noted that the climate has warmed over the last 20-30 years, so cold weather will not come to the capital soon.
