"Roscosmos" published footage of the "storm of the century" in the Far East


"Roscosmos" on November 28 published images of the snow "storm of the century" recorded in space in the Far East.
The state corporation's Telegram channel called the cyclone powerful, noting that the atmospheric vortex came from the Korean Peninsula. It added that the cyclone brought hurricane-force winds and record snowfall.
It is specified that the shots were made from satellites "Arktika-M" and "Electro-L".
The day before in Blagoveshchensk, the Commission for emergency situations decided to introduce a state of emergency because of the snowstorm. It is noted that school students are transferred to distance learning. It is also reported that employers independently decide on the transfer to a remote format or on the reduction of the working day.
On the same day, airplanes from Novosibirsk, Yekaterinburg and Vladivostok left in the morning for an alternate airfield in Khabarovsk due to snowfall in Blagoveshchensk.
Amur Region Governor Vasily Orlov reported that nearly three decades' worth of precipitation fell in Blagoveshchensk over the day. According to forecasters, snowfall will continue for at least another day. Residents are also advised not to use personal cars without special necessity.
