Czech MEP names reason for new anti-Russian sanctions

New EU sanctions may affect companies from the EAEU countries or from other states that closely cooperate with Russia in the economic sphere, Czech MEP Ivan David told Izvestia.

"There is a lot of frustration in Brussels now about the circumvention of restrictions and the ineffectiveness of sanctions measures against Russia. The EU does not want to lose face and is forced to adopt more and more new sanctions," he said.

The MP considers such a scenario "very likely."

According to EU representatives, the 15th package of anti-Russian sanctions may be adopted as early as December. Most likely, the restrictions will affect tankers carrying Russian oil.
