The damage from the fire of the SSJ-100 aircraft of Azimut Airlines in Antalya may reach 2-3 billion rubles. This was reported by TASS on Monday, November 25, citing a source in the insurance market.

According to the interlocutor of the agency, the announced amount is due to the fact that the incident at the Turkish airport led to the total loss of the airplane.

It is specified that we are talking about preliminary estimates, taking into account the age of the board.

Prior to this it was reported that the liability of Azimut, as well as the fleet of aircraft of the airline insured in JSC "AlfaStrakhovanie".

Earlier in the day, a passenger of the ignited airplane Natalia told Izvestia that the crew of the airplane tried to calm down the passengers, who helped each other and got out of the ignited aircraft by going down the inflatable gangway.

Thefire ofthe plane of the airline "Azimut" during landing at Antalya airport occurred the night before, November 24. Because of the fire, the runway was temporarily closed. A representative of the airport specified that the Sukhoi Superjet's engine caught fire, the plane was extinguished. According to the United Aircraft Corporation (UAC), the cause of the fire could be the impact on the runway during landing.

The Russian Consulate General in Antalya reported that some Russians safely left the airport. Passengers who were supposed to fly to Russia on the plane that caught fire were provided with a reserve board, and during the waiting period they were accommodated in a hotel. A criminal case has been opened after the incident with the plane.
