UK imposes sanctions against Russian insurers and marine vessels

The British authorities have imposed a number of new sanctions, including restrictions affecting 30 Russian oil tankers. This is stated in the updated list on the website of the Government of the United Kingdom.
Thus, the total number of ships from Russia, hit by sanctions, reached 90. They are forbidden to enter the ports of the country under threat of arrest and will be denied registration in the registry of ships of the kingdom.
In addition, "Alfa Insurance", "Insurance House VSK" appeared in the black list. In total, the list now includes 378 legal entities.
The resolution specifies that these companies are allegedly "involved in obtaining benefits at the expense of supporting the Russian government by doing business in the sector of strategic importance to the Russian government," added "Gazeta.Ru".
Earlier, on November 18, the Council of the European Union (EU) blacklisted three Russian shipping companies - MG Flot, VTS Broker and Arapax, as well as Islamic Republic of Iran Shipping Lines (IRISL) and its director Mohammad Reza. The EU cited Tehran's alleged support of Moscow for the special operation as the reason. The next day Britain imposed sanctions against the All-Russian children's and youth movement "Junarmia" and the center of military-patriotic education "Avangard".
On October 14, European Parliament member Lebos Blaga said in an interview with Izvestia that sanctions against Russia mean a long-term prospect of economic suicide in Europe.
