US imposes sanctions against first deputy chairmen of the Central Bank of Russia


TheUnited States has imposed sanctions against First Deputy Chairmen of the Bank of Russia Vladimir Chistyukhin and Dmitry Tulin. This is stated in the statement of the U.S. Ministry of Finance on the expansion of anti-Russian sanctions on November 21.
In addition, restrictions are imposed on the heads of several departments of the Bank of Russia. In total, the U.S. authorities put 16 individuals and more than 90 structures on the sanctions lists.
Russian banks, such as "CentroCredit", "ITURUP", Bratsk People's Bank and other financial structures were also included in the sanctions lists.
Earlier in the day, Finance Minister Anton Siluanov said that Western sanctions will not lead to restrictions on Russia's foreign trade. According to him, all restrictions by Western countries first of all hit them. Siluanov emphasized that in 2024 the dynamics of economic growth in Russia will be about 4%, while the dynamics of the West will be "0.1% at best".
Western countries increased sanctions pressure on Russia after the start of the special operation to protect civilians in Donbass, which was announced on February 24, 2022.
