The Federal Tax Service (FTS) of Russia sets high standards for the provision of public services with its approach to problem solving. This was stated by Russian President Vladimir Putin on November 21 in his congratulations to employees and veterans of the tax authorities on their professional holiday.

"You are successfully solving the tasks set, actively implementing advanced, primarily digital technologies, the best domestic and international practices. This approach directly affects the effectiveness of your work, sets high standards for the provision of public services to citizens and businesses," reads the text published on the Kremlin website.

The head of state also noted the great and meaningful work of the agency to improve the domestic tax system.

He pointed out that the Federal Tax Service has become a powerful, branched and constantly updating structure, which tries to meet the demands of the time and help achieve national development goals.

In conclusion, Putin wished success to the employees of the tax authorities. He stressed that Russia's economic sovereignty, creation of conditions for business and implementation of large-scale programs depend on their professionalism and loyalty to duty.

The Day of the Tax Authorities Worker is celebrated annually on November 21. The holiday appeared in 2000. The date was chosen because on this day in 1991 the decree on the creation of the State Tax Service was signed.

Earlier, on October 25, the Federal Tax Service was delegated the authority to maintain a register of digital currency miners. Also in late September, the agency decided to strengthen control over online casinos to detect sites violating the law and restrict access to them.

Congratulating the Tax Service in 2023, Putin noted the potential of the FTS and urged it not to slow down the pace of work. In turn, the press secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov called the agency one of the most advanced in the world.
