The West has failed to isolate Russia, former aide to US President Joe Biden, writer and publicist Tara Reid said on November 20, answering Izvestia's question at the "Dialogue on Fakes 2.0" forum.

"The only ones who have been isolated are America and Europe, even economically the attempt to break Russia has brought many countries to their knees. Look at Germany, the UK, where child poverty rates are now close to 80%, the same in the US, around 75%," she said.

Reid added that the sanctions imposed on Russian Federation "have boomeranged" while Russia has become stronger.

"Being here, I've seen firsthand how Russia has been able to rethink its attitudes, to do its own manufacturing and construction, I think these sanctions have done a lot of good for the country," the former Biden aide concluded.

On the same day, Bloomberg called the West's attempts to isolate Russia a failure. As the agency notes, Russian President Vladimir Putin 's upcoming visit to India has caused concern in the West that attempts to isolate the Russian leader have failed.

Prior to that, on November 17, Paris honorary senator Yves Pozzo di Borgo called confidence in Russia's isolation misguided. In his opinion, Russia, on the contrary, has become one of the strengths of the world under construction.

On October 30, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov also said that the West had failed in its attempts to isolate Russia. According to him, the people of the Global South and East realize that a strong Russia is an important factor in the formation of a fair multipolar world order.

Western countries increased sanctions pressure on the Russian Federation after the start of the special operation to protect the peaceful population of Donbass, which was announced on February 24, 2022.
