EU blacklists three Russian companies and one Iranian company

The Council of the European Union (EU) has blacklisted three Russian companies, as well as an Iranian shipping company and its director. This statement was published on the agency's website.
The company Islamic Republic of Iran Shipping Lines (IRISL) and its director Mohammad Reza were blacklisted. The reason was given by the EU as Tehran's alleged support of Moscow in conducting special operations.
Three Russian shipping companies - MG Flot, VTS Broker and Arapax - also fell under the sanctions.
Earlier, on November 9, the head of diplomacy of the European Union, Josep Borrell, said at a press conference in Kiev that the EU was preparing a 15th package of anti-Russian sanctions.
On October 14, MEP Lebos Blaga said in an interview with Izvestia that sanctions against Russia mean a long-term prospect of economic suicide in Europe.
Western countries increased sanctions pressure on the Russian Federation after the start of the special operation to protect civilians in Donbass, which was announced on February 24, 2022.
