Last call – 2025: greetings in prose, heartfelt postcards and pictures

At the end of May, graduates of the ninth and 11th grades celebrate a special graduation holiday - the Last Bell. On this day, students and parents thank teachers for the knowledge they have given, and teachers give parting words to their wards who are going into adulthood. Izvestia has made a selection of heartfelt greetings and postcards for this significant event.
Last Call pictures and postcards
The tradition of celebrating graduation dates back to 1948. Its founder is considered to be a teacher from Krasnodar, Honored teacher of the RSFSR Fyodor Bryukhovetsky. In 1943, he became the director of school No. 12 in Moscow and began active work on team building. It was he who first organized the celebration, which is now known as the Last Call. On a significant day, the students gathered for a ruler, and then planted trees in memory of their school years.
However, the graduation celebration did not become widespread immediately. Following Bryukhovetsky's example, it has been held over the years for graduates by principals and teachers of some regional schools. It was only in the 1970s that the Last Call received official status.
Gradually, graduates began to be honored in all schools of the country. At the same time, the main traditions of the holiday were born: solemn lines, awarding distinguished students, thanksgiving concerts with poems and songs for teachers. The waltz of graduates and the launch of balloons also became recognizable attributes of the Last Bell. The main symbol of this day is considered to be the ringing of a bell, which for 11 years announced the beginning and end of lessons.
Last Call – 2025: congratulations to teachers in prose and poetry
The last bell is a celebration not only for students, but also for teachers, because they have been sharing knowledge with children for several years, involving them in various projects and activities. A special place in the hearts of many graduates is occupied by the homeroom teacher, who guided them, helped them solve problems, protected them in conflict situations and motivated them to new achievements. Therefore, on the day of saying goodbye to school, students say kind words to their mentors. Here's how it can be done:
"Dear teachers! Thank you for being with us all these years. You helped us learn new things, gave us the strength to do the impossible, and supported us in our most daring endeavors. We wish you many years of fruitful work, spiritual strength, inspiration, and may your life be full of happy moments."
"Dear teachers! We sincerely thank you for the wisdom, attention and love that you have given us over the years. You have made our school life really bright and unforgettable. We all have a long road ahead of us to a new world, but with your guidance, we will overcome any difficulties. We wish you to remain as positive, kind and understanding."
"Today we say thank you to our beloved teachers. All these years you have been like a second family to us. You helped us in difficult moments, shared with us the joy of victories and the bitterness of defeats. And let it be time to say goodbye, know that we will never forget you and cherish everything you have taught us in our hearts. Be healthy, happy and successful!"
You can also tell your teacher about your warm feelings in verse form. Such congratulations sound organically from the stage and are well remembered due to the combination of rhymes.
"Dear teacher, thank you very much
For years of patience, tips, and science!
You have cleverly woven the simple out of the complex,
You are our educator, mentor and friend!
You have surrounded us with attention and affection.,
Caring and sometimes strict kindness,
You have made school our home and a fairy tale.
And the path was pointed out for our dream!"
"We don't know when we grew up.,
But then the last bell rings.
We studied, played and sang together.,
We hurried to your lesson with a smile,
They solved puzzles and opened up the world,
They asked for a hint and wise advice.
Thank you for everything we've learned.,
Dear teacher, happy years to you!"
Parting words to graduates from the teacher
The last bell is also a special day for teachers, as they say goodbye to their beloved students. Therefore, on the holiday, teachers traditionally address graduates with parting words.
"Dear guys! Congratulations on graduating from high school. You have grown up before our eyes, and we are proud of what wonderful people you have become. Feel free to go ahead, achieve your goals, and realize your wildest dreams. May your further studies be exciting and fruitful, and every day brings new reasons for joy!"
"Our beloved graduates, congratulations on your Last call! Soon you will leave the walls of your native school and go on a free swim. I would like to wish you good luck, self-confidence, love and well-being. May reliable people accompany you on this journey, and the guiding stars do not let you go astray!"
"Today we congratulate our dear graduates on the Last Call. Eleven years have passed like a flash, and now we are faced with grown-up, successful people. Over the years, we've tried to teach you everything we knew ourselves, and we've been happy to learn new things from you. And although it's time to say goodbye, know that the doors of your native school will always be open for you. Be happy and greet every new day of your life with a smile!"

Parents also take an active part in the celebration of the Last Bell. On this day, they thank the teachers for their hard work and congratulate their children on graduation.
"Dear teachers! On behalf of the parents of our class, I want to thank you for being with our children all these years. Under your guidance, they have become successful, strong, and educated young people. The personal foundation that you have laid will be a reliable help for them on their way to adulthood. We wish you good health, warmth of the heart and new pedagogical achievements!"
"The last call is a special day for all of us. On this bright, touching and a little sad holiday, we want to say thank you to our wonderful teachers, the principal and the head teacher. You welcomed our children with warmth and love, and they responded in kind. Thanks to you, today's graduates are not going on a free voyage empty—handed - they will carry into the future all the knowledge and experience that you have passed on to them.
