In 2025, the Immortal Regiment campaign in Russia will be held in a mixed offline and online format. It was decided to cancel the traditional street march in many cities due to threats to public safety. However, in some regions of Siberia and the Far East, the march is revived in the usual format. The Immortal Regiment in 2025 — when and how it will be held

Commemorative events related to the Immortal Regiment will be held in Russia in the jubilee year 2025, from May 1 to 11. The regions independently decide on the time and methods of holding the patriotic action on May 9th.

Traditionally, photographs of heroes will be carried along the street in a number of regions of Central Russia, the North Caucasus, Siberia, the Urals and the Far East, as well as in St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region. In addition, for security reasons, the march is organized online in the border regions.

In addition, the patriotic campaign "Memory Watch" is taking place in schools, students participate in concerts, patriotic flash mobs and actions, including "Immortal Regiment", "Parade at the Veteran's House" and "Victory Waltz". Schools choose the format of the event independently.

The Immortal Regiment in 2025 — how to participate

Natalia Shadrina, head of the executive committee of the Immortal Regiment of Russia public movement, said during a press conference that there are several ways to tell about your heroes. For example, a portrait of a veteran can be printed on a T-shirt or placed on a personal car. She also called on the participants of the action to share the stories of their relatives on social networks with the hashtag #Our Immortal Regiment, to put their photos on avatars.

Shadrina added that on May 9, portraits of the heroes of the Great Patriotic War will be broadcast on the website of the Immortal Regiment. The photos will also appear on media facades in Russian cities and on local TV channels.

Anastasia Ryabova, Executive Director of the All-Russian Public Movement Volunteers of Victory, spoke about the work of other formats. According to her, from May 1, the movement's participants will launch a chatbot in Telegram to create memorable avatars for social networks. With it, users will be able to add themed frames to their photos or portraits of heroes. More detailed information about the work of the chatbot will be published on the website of the Immortal Regiment and on the social networks of the Victory Volunteers.

In addition, a Memorial Wall campaign will be held in schools and other educational institutions in Russia, in which students will tell about their relatives who participated in the Great Patriotic War and post their photos on special stands. Victory Volunteers will also help organize similar events at enterprises and in public spaces: libraries, youth centers, etc. A list of placement points will appear on the movement's website.

Ryabova recalled that on the website of the Immortal Regiment, users can create a banner with a portrait of their hero. To do this, they need to upload a photo and indicate in a special form the full name, years of life and title of the person depicted on it. The resulting image can be used for printing or posted on social networks.
