Murashko said there is no universal cure for aging
Scientists have not yet found a universal drug that could increase human life expectancy. At the same time, there are ways to reduce the risk of serious illnesses and maintain health in old age. This was announced on November 2 by Russian Minister of Health Mikhail Murashko.
"When we talk about longevity, there is certainly no universal solution yet, that there is one drug that provides everyone with an increase in life expectancy and a healthy life. Such exploratory research is being conducted in many countries," he said at the National Health Congress.
In his opinion, there are already proven ways to prolong a healthy life. Among them, the minister mentioned the prevention of heart attacks and oncological diseases, as well as the fight against lung diseases. Separately, Murashko drew attention to the problem of obesity. He noted that being overweight increases the risk of chronic diseases, including cancer, and can shorten life expectancy.
The Minister also stressed that technologies for health assessment using medical devices and laboratory tests are already being used in Russia. Such methods make it possible to identify risks and take timely measures to prevent diseases, she added. "Газета.Ru ".
On October 29, the Russian Ministry of Health developed a draft program of state guarantees of free medical care for 2027 and for the planned period of 2028 and 2029. It was also proposed to include 33 new methods of high-tech medical care in the state guarantee program, including bone marrow transplantation, treatment of congenital heart valve defects, and lower limb replacement.
